SKY Top Blow – an innovative solution with top exhaust
Why is an overhead exhaust system preferable when installing near a property line?
Traditional pumps blow cold air sideways, which can bother neighbors or damage plants in the garden. Our Top-Blow technology blows air upward. This allows you to install the blower even in narrow spaces between your house and the fence without disturbing your neighbors or blowing air directly onto your plants.
How does an overhead valve design extend the service life of mechanical components?
The vertical arrangement of the fan and motor in the Top-Blow model ensures an even distribution of forces on the bearings. Unlike horizontal fans, where gravity exerts one-sided stress on the bearings, the top exhaust minimizes friction and vibration. The result is less wear on rotating parts and a significantly longer service life for the entire mechanism.
Is it true that the top exhaust contributes to lower noise levels?
Yes. With a side exhaust, the sound spreads horizontally directly into the surrounding area. With a top exhaust, the sound pressure is directed upward, where it naturally dissipates in open space. Combined with a vertical engine layout, which produces less resonance, this is one of the quietest solutions for dense urban areas.
Why is the top-exhaust model more weather-resistant?
The Top-Blow design is inherently better protected against the intake of debris, leaves, or drifting snow from ground level. Air flows more evenly around the evaporator, which increases heat transfer efficiency and reduces the frequency of defrost cycles required during the winter months.
Strategic Competitive Advantages of SKY Heat Pumps
In what ways is R290 refrigerant better than commonly used refrigerants?
Unlike older refrigerants (R410A, R32), R290 is a natural gas with a near-zero global warming potential (GWP = 3). In addition, it allows for a higher water outlet temperature (up to 75°C), making it an ideal choice even for homes with older radiators without any loss of efficiency.
Why are your pumps quieter than competing models?
Our units feature advanced compressor sound insulation and specially shaped fan blades that reduce turbulence. As a result, our pumps are suitable even for densely built-up areas with strict noise limits.
How do you ensure the availability of replacement parts after 5 or 10 years?
Unlike many dealers who are merely intermediaries, we keep key components in stock right here in Slovakia. Our goal is to service machines throughout their entire lifespan, not just during the warranty period.
Can your pump replace an old gas boiler without having to replace the radiators?
Yes. Thanks to the R290 refrigerant, we achieve high water temperatures comparable to those of gas boilers. This allows us to renovate the heating system without having to install underfloor heating throughout the entire house. For even greater efficiency, standard radiators can be replaced with low-temperature radiators, which require lower inlet temperatures to achieve the same heat output.
Why is your price significantly lower while maintaining high quality?
We optimize our logistics and focus on direct sales without unnecessary middlemen. We invest in technology and service, not in expensive trade shows and massive marketing campaigns, which allows us to pass those savings directly on to you.
General and technical questions
What are the operating costs of heating with a heat pump?
On average, you’ll save 50–70% on costs compared to electric heating or an old solid-fuel boiler.
Do I need a backup heat source for the pump?
Yes, our systems have a built-in backup heat source that helps during extreme cold spells (below -20°C). According to our operational tests at -23°C, the heat pump has sufficient capacity even without using or activating the backup heat source.
Can I use a heat pump for cooling in the summer?
Yes, all of our models support reverse operation for active cooling via underfloor heating or fan coils.
How long does the installation take?
A standard monoblock installation takes 1 to 2 business days.
Can the pump be controlled remotely?
Of course, you can adjust the temperature and monitor the system status from anywhere using the mobile app.
What is the service life of your heat pumps?
With regular maintenance, the expected service life is 15 to 20 years.
Do I need to have regular maintenance inspections?
Yes, we recommend an annual inspection before the heating season to maintain the warranty and ensure optimal efficiency.
Is a monoblock system better than a split system?
The monoblock unit has its entire refrigerant circuit located outdoors, which simplifies installation and eliminates the risk of refrigerant leaks inside the house.
Where is the best place to install the outdoor unit?
In an open area with good airflow, at least 30 cm from the wall and away from neighbors’ bedrooms.
Can you help me apply for the “Green Homes” grant?
Yes, our machines are eligible for subsidies, and we provide all the necessary documentation for the application.
What is COP, and what values do your pumps achieve?
COP stands for Coefficient of Performance. Our pumps achieve a COP of up to 5.0 (they generate 5 kW of heat from 1 kW of electricity).
Can the pump freeze during a power outage?
Our systems include antifreeze or safety valves that protect the system from damage.
Is it necessary to replace the electrical connection (circuit breakers)?
A standard 25A circuit breaker is usually sufficient, but our technician will make an accurate assessment during the site inspection.
How loud is the outdoor unit in night mode?
In night mode, the noise level drops below 35 dB(A), which is comparable to a quiet whisper.
Does the pump work even in extreme cold?
Yes, our R290 units can effectively heat spaces down to an outdoor temperature of -25°C.
